FAQ
The questions Berks County callers actually ask — pricing, sizes, permits, weight limits and what can't go in the box. Anything else, call us.
Published Berks County ranges run about $395–$950 depending on size, included tons and included days. Our pricing page shows typical ranges by size and explains every factor. Your exact flat quote is confirmed on the call before you book.
Household debris: match the project — bath 10–15, kitchen 15–20, whole home 20–30. Heavy debris (concrete, dirt, shingles): weight rules, usually a 10-yard. The size guide walks through it.
Driveway or private property: no City of Reading permit. Public street or alley: yes — a City permit through Public Works, with proof of liability insurance, applied for at least 48 hours ahead. We have not published a permit fee because we could not verify the current figure with the City — ask Public Works or ask us to check when you book. Township rules vary.
Wet paint, oils and solvents, batteries, tires, propane tanks, appliances with refrigerants, asbestos, contaminated soil and hazardous chemicals. Ask before loading anything questionable — a rejected load costs far more than a phone call.
Your quote states the included rental period (about 7 days is the local standard). Extensions are a simple per-day arrangement — call before the period ends.
Every rental includes a tonnage allowance. Over it, overage is charged per ton at the rate stated in your quote. Heavy debris hits limits fast — a cubic yard of concrete is roughly two tons.
We place containers on boards to spread weight and protect asphalt, concrete and pavers. Avoid placing on soft ground or fresh asphalt in summer heat where possible — we'll advise on your surface when you call.
Plan on roughly 60 feet of clear approach and 23–25 feet of vertical clearance, plus the box footprint itself (a 20-yard is about 22 feet long).
When the schedule allows, yes — but we won't promise a window we can't keep. Call and we'll tell you the earliest honest slot.
One bulky item and no time: junk removal often wins. A room or a houseful over several days: a dumpster wins on cost and pace. Our blog comparison breaks down the break-even honestly.
Brush and yard waste can ride in a general cleanout load in moderation. A load that is mostly dirt or sod is a heavy-debris load — ask first so it's priced right.
We rent roll-off dumpsters — we don't provide loading labor or weekly front-load trash service. For a single-item pickup with labor included, a junk removal company is the right call.
Not sure which size? Call and describe the job — we'll size it honestly.
